Infectious Disease Nutrition
The Infectious Diseases Nutrition Sub-unit is the advocate of the dietetics profession serving the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well being. The Infectious Diseases Nutrition Sub-unit enables members of the Academy Of Nutrition & Dietetics to network and share information, collaborate, and advocate in order to positively impact people affected with infectious diseases.
Our Goals:
- To support and expand a network of dietetics professionals that share information and experiences on the nutritional management of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B & C and other infectious diseases.
- To create and disseminate a comprehensive quarterly publication that provides nutrition information to members, allied health professionals and primary care providers in the field of Infectious Diseases management through a variety of communication channels.
- To inform members of current research in infectious diseases nutrition and to provide support for their participation in research projects through networking.
- To advocate through public policy and education for the integration of nutrition into HIV disease management.
